.Red Squirrels near Loch Tay.
According to estimates there are only 160,000 red squirrels living in Britain today, with over three quarters of that number found in Scotland. Perthshire conifer woodlands are a stronghold for this rare species where they feast on cones, pine seeds, nuts and berries. Autumn is a busy time for the squirrels and they can often be spotted out and about in the woodlands gathering food to see them through the winter.
The new holiday homes being built at Tigh na Loan, Fearnan, Loch Tay are situated in an area which is inhabited by red squirrels and if you approach slowly and quietly you might be rewarded with a sighting of this lovely creature.
